Sales Orders Overview
The Sales Orders section is where you manage all customer orders from creation to fulfillment. This central hub allows you to track order statuses, manage inventory allocation, and ensure timely delivery to your customers.
Navigating to Sales Orders
To access the Sales Orders list:
- From the main menu, navigate to Market > Orders.
- This will take you to the main orders grid, which provides a comprehensive view of all sales orders.
Key Concepts
- Sales Order (SO): A document created when a customer agrees to purchase goods or services. It details the products, quantities, pricing, and shipping information.
- Order Status: Tracks the progress of a sales order through its lifecycle, from
Pending Fulfillmentto Fulfilled/Pending Invoice or Partial Fulfilled/Pending Invoice orInvoicedorVoided. - Fulfillment: The process of picking, packing, and shipping the items in a sales order.
- Backorder: Occurs when a customer orders an item that is not currently in stock. The system helps you manage and fulfill these orders once inventory is replenished.
The Sales Order Lifecycle
- Creation: A sales order is created, either manually or synced from a marketplace. Its initial status is
Pending Fulfillment. - Fulfillment: The order is fulfilled by shipping the items to the customer. This can happen in one or more shipments.
- Invoicing: An invoice is generated from the fulfilled items and sent to the customer for payment.
- Completion: The order is marked as
Invoicedonce all fulfilled items have been invoiced.
From the main orders grid, you can:
- Filter and Search: Use powerful filters to find orders by status, customer, date, or other criteria.
- View Order Details: Click on any order to see its full details, including items, fulfillment status, and associated documents.
- Perform Actions: From the list view, you can perform bulk actions like voiding orders or syncing with marketplaces.
